Dallas Favorite: Pecan Lodge
If you are looking for a tantalizing taste of down-home barbecue, then look no further than Pecan Lodge. This restaurant is a local in Deep Ellum Texas. The whole idea for the barbecue lodge began with a couple, Justin and Diane Fourton, that was working in corporate America. They realized that they were spending so much time at their white-collar jobs that they were losing the connection that they had with their families. They shared a passion for BBQ, so they set up a stand at the local Dallas farmers market. There, they set up an offset pit and began to serve up some of their family’s treasured recipes. Little by little word got out about the incredible flavor at their small shed, and the couple was able to grow their hobby into what is now: a popular restaurant in Dallas.
What Makes the Pecan Lodge So Unique?
Justin and Diane Fourton had a real love for barbecue and fueled by the passion that they had for their family’s authentic barbecue food and their own ingenuity, they created and improved on recipes that are classic and unique at the same time. Even though times change, Justin and Diane Fourton have been able to hold on to their family’s traditions; the restaurant just had a ten-year anniversary. Everything that they can possibly make from scratch they do, and they show honor to the recipes that their grandparents passed down to them.
